Input assist for guest entry is now available on booking pages and forms

Main Changes

An "Input assist" setting has been added to booking pages and forms/routing forms. You can turn four features on or off per form from the editor: realtime error display, automatic full-width to half-width conversion, automatic furigana entry, and draft auto-save. These help reduce guest input errors and drop-off during entry.

What's Changed

  • Added an "Input assist" section to the Form settings of the booking page editor and to the question settings of forms and routing forms. Available on the Business plan or above of the current pricing plans (legacy Enterprise and Max plans are not covered).
  • Realtime errors: choose whether errors are shown while the guest is typing. On by default, which matches the previous behavior. When off, entries are validated at submission instead.
  • Half-width conversion: full-width alphanumeric characters and symbols entered in phone number, email, numeric/alphanumeric, and furigana fields are converted to half-width when the guest leaves the field.
  • Automatic furigana: the furigana field is filled in automatically as the guest types their name. Furigana the guest has entered themselves is never overwritten.
  • Draft auto-save: entered values are saved in the guest's browser and restored when they return. Drafts are kept for 24 hours and discarded once the form is submitted. File attachments and booking date/time questions inside public forms are excluded.
  • Half-width conversion and automatic furigana can be configured and take effect only when the language is set to Japanese.
  • The three new features are off by default (realtime errors keeps its existing default), so existing forms behave exactly as before unless you change the setting.
  • Also fixed the postal code address autofill so that wards of designated cities and towns/villages in districts are filled in the correct order.
