Calendar invite text now supports variables, and booking changes are reflected in the event description
Main Changes
The Body text of the "Calendar Invite Setting" on booking pages (the text added to the description of the calendar event) now supports the same variables as the title, such as the guest's name, company, booking date and host name. In addition, when a booking changes, the description of the calendar event is now rebuilt with the latest booking details.
What's Changed
- In the booking page editor, go to Workflow > "Calendar Invite Setting" and write variables such as
{{contact_name}}(guest name) or{{event_date}}(booking date) in Body. They are replaced with the actual values when the calendar event is written. The same 8 variables as the title are available ({{event_name}}{{contact_name}}{{contact_company}}{{contact_company_and_name}}{{event_date}}{{event_started_at}}{{time_zone}}{{host_name}}). - When the booking name, date and time or Organizer changes, when the guest's name or company is changed in "Edit contact" on the dashboard, and when the booking is rescheduled, the title and description of the calendar event are rebuilt with the latest details.
- As a result, anything written directly in the event description on the calendar is overwritten on those changes.
- Also fixed an issue where changing the Organizer removed the Body text, the guest's message and the form answers from the description.
- Body text set through
calendarInviteBodyof the public API (GET/PATCH /v1/event_types/{eventTypeId}/notification) is replaced the same way. - Existing Body text without variables looks the same as before.
