We've released an update to enhance Jicoo's form functionality, improving convenience for both form creators and respondents. With these improvements, form creators can now easily add example text (placeholders) and supplementary explanations to each input field, allowing respondents to fill out forms more intuitively and smoothly.
Key Improvements
- Added Placeholder Functionality:
- You can now display example text (e.g., "Taro Yamada" or "e.g.,
info@example.com
") within each input field.
- This visually communicates what the user should input and the expected format, automatically disappearing when the user starts typing.
- Added Description Text Functionality:
- You can now display supplementary descriptive text below each field label (item name).
- This provides the field's purpose, important notes about input, and detailed information, helping to clarify any questions respondents may have.
- Internationalization and Furigana Support for Name Input:
- The name input field can now be configured and split into "Last Name" and "First Name."
- It displays in "Last Name First Name" order in Japanese environments and "First Name Last Name" order in English environments for more natural input.
- Furigana (Hiragana/Katakana) input for names is also supported.
- Enhanced Input Validation:
- Validation for various input formats like text, numbers, email addresses, Hiragana, and Katakana has been strengthened.
- You can now also set minimum and maximum character counts, supporting more accurate data collection.
- Improved Customizability and User-Friendliness:
- Customization options for the appearance of input fields have been enhanced, allowing for more detailed adjustments.
- By enriching item descriptions, we've achieved an intuitive screen design for respondents, improving the overall user experience.
Background and Purpose
Previously, users sometimes found it unclear what to enter in each form field. There was also a need for more flexibility in collecting specific information, such as name order and phonetic readings (furigana).
These improvements aim to address these challenges and achieve the following:
- Clarify Input Requirements: Make it clear to users what they should enter in each form field.
- Enhance User Experience: Reduce input confusion and improve form completion rates by providing supplementary explanations for field purposes.
- Strengthen Internationalization: Make forms more accessible to a wider range of users by supporting Japanese and English name input conventions and furigana.
How to Use
- When creating or editing forms, you'll find new input fields for "Placeholders" and "Description Text" in each item's settings.
- For "Name" fields, you can configure settings for splitting the name, display order based on language, and furigana (Hiragana/Katakana) input.
- Various validation settings are also accessible from each item's configuration screen.
With these form function improvements, we can now offer more flexible and understandable form creation and a smoother response experience than ever before. Please make use of these features and find them helpful in various situations, such as surveys, inquiry responses, and event registrations.
